Our History
Chengrun grew out of the insulation materials business of Dongguan Chengrun Insulation Materials Co., Ltd. The company started with sleeving and tubing for the appliance industry, then followed its customers into automotive wiring harnesses and, later, into new-energy applications. Tape was a product line inside that business for years before it became a division of its own.
The direction of travel has been consistent: move from trading to manufacturing, from commodity grades to qualified constructions, and from domestic supply to export markets.
Milestones
Insulation materials manufacturing begins
The company is established in Dongguan and starts producing insulation sleeving and tubing for the home appliance industry.
Six product families
The range expands to fibreglass sleeving, corrugated conduit, heat-shrinkable tubing, braided sleeving, adhesive tape and PTFE products.
Harness supply chain
Insulation materials are adopted by automotive harness and tier-1 supply chains, driving the introduction of an IATF 16949 quality system.
UL and CSA recognition
Insulation constructions are recognised to UL and CSA, and the product range is brought into line with RoHS 2.0 and REACH.
Battery and high-temperature tape
Demand from battery pack and power electronics customers adds polyimide and PET high-temperature tapes to the range.
Tape as its own division
Tape becomes a dedicated division with its own plant footprint, nine production lines and a daily output of 100,000 metres.
